Bali

First trip to Bali, and with Amanda! We took separate flights there, met at the airport and had a meal before heading to the accommodations she booked somewhere north of Bali in Munduk

The accommodation was like a treehouse on top of a hill. Scenic, serene but full of bugs ðŸ«

It was Dong Zhi so we bought and cooked some tangyuan! Breakfast was served daily to the door, either toast/eggs or pancakes with juices.

We took a walk to the nearby waterfall, and a loooong trek to the next destination hoping to get Bakso by the lake but we got lost and stranded in the rain lol. Called for help and transport back and had an early dinner at the restaurant near the accommodation.

The next day we chartered a car to tour the surroundings - more waterfalls, rice paddy fields, and finally got the Bakso by the lake.

On Christmas Day we took a cooking class at a local restaurant! Made 3 dishes: A soup, corn fritters, and some chicken dish - and had our own Christmas dinner hehe

We also went for a touristy Jeep tour. 100% would not recommend - woke up too early, experience wasn't that great and it just felt like we were getting fleeced lol.

Finally checked out Room4Dessert The idea of a dessert omakase is super cool, overall the experience was interesting but I didn't like everything ðŸ˜… Also Amanda was sick so she could not taste anything huhu

Brunch @ her favourite cafe in Bali - Shady Shack. Vegan options were really good.

Chilled at a beach club but ended up tearing our clothes on the rattan seat ðŸ˜ It tore my denim shorts wth, Amanda's dress was torn so badly she had to go buy a new dress.......
Dinner was at a satay place, and we stayed for live music (so good) before checking out Motel Mexicola. We ended the night super early 'cus we're old lol.

Last day we had breakfast at an acai place before I flew home and she extended her trip past the new year.

We've been friends for over a decade and it's our first trip together! I'm glad I made it happen :)
